Phnom Penh Travel: Luxury Lifestyle on a Budget

Phnom Penh Travel: Luxury Lifestyle on a Budget

Phnom Penh Travel Advice: We experienced this vibrant city on two very different budgets and felt we lived Phnom Penh to its fullest each time.

Because we spent out of our league the first time around, we had to take on Phnom Penh as budget travellers the second time around. It was amazing for us to figure out a way to live Phnom Penh to its fullest on a budget as well as when we were splashing our cash. With a few tweaks here and there you can still find riverside accommodation, get a little tipsy and feel rather pampered, here’s how…

.

Phnom Penh Travel: Find Riverside Accommodation.

Staying right in the heart of the action in Phnom Penh is crucial to savouring the city’s finest activity. For $110 dollars you can live in the luxury penthouse suite in The Quay Boutique hotel. Expect a balcony that overlooks the wide Tonle Sap River, a sunny lounge area, mighty breakfast deliveries and a stunning open-plan bathroom.

.

Alternatively stay two blocks upriver for $15 at Indochine Hotel. No windows or breakfast but a clean four-walled room, friendly staff, air con and a hot shower bathroom.

.

Phnom Penh Travel: Get tipsy

Spend $7 per cocktail at ‘Le Moon Terrace Bar’ on top of Amanjaya Hotel and drift away to soft lighting and music that almost drowns out the hum from below.

.

Alternatively make happy hour work for you. Find a restaurant that offers 2 jugs of Angkor beer for an incredible $3.

.

Phnom Penh Travel: Pamper yourself.

Save an entire afternoon to get scrubbed, wrapped and massaged at one of the many spas for $60.

.

Alternatively accept an invitation from the street side masseurs who will pulverise your muscles for $10 an hour.

.

Phnom Penh Travel: Dine in style.

Order a wine, an exotic Khmer dish and share a dessert for $15 at Mali’s restaurant, one of Phnom Penh’s prestigious and romantic locations.

.

Alternatively grab a freshly baked baguette and fresh juice from a hand-pulled cart and sit beneath the Royal palace and a setting sun for $3.

.

Yes, Phnom Penh is just on of those places to see in cambodia – Do it, you will love it!

 .

Phnom Penh Travel: Take a Tour.

Jump in a tuk-tuk and be whisked around to the cities highlights and historical sites for $15 (plus entrance fees).

.

Alternatively stroll around the athletes and dancers that create a vibrant stir on the waterfront, stare at the monkeys that cross the roads by strolling along the power lines and the markets filled with friendly smiles and interesting cuisine. If you can resist the grub this one is free of charge, good luck.
