Stykkisholmur Town

Stykkisholmur Town

Explore Iceland: explore Stykkisholmur

.

Stykkisholmur is a lazy port town lingering on the northern tip of the Snaefellsnes Peninsular. A welcoming medley of multicoloured houses and coffee shops perch off the main road that ends abruptly at a small mariner. The claim to fame of Stykkisholmur is being the first area of Iceland to have settlers. Protecting the port from a bitter wind and crashing waves is the striking golden cliff face of Sugandisey Island. Several steps lead you to share the view enjoyed by swooping seagulls and the orange lighthouse.
